Amy M. Smith, Ph.D.

Dr. Amy Smith (she/her) is Chief Science Officer at Blank Slate Technologies in New Haven, Connecticut. She specializes in research on spaced retrieval, long-term memory, and the effects of stress on learning and memory. She earned her Ph.D. from Tufts University in 2018.

Before joining Blank Slate, Dr. Smith was a tenure-track professor at Quinnipiac University where she taught Cognitive Psychology, Applied Cognition, and Statistics in Psychology. She also ran a research lab investigating how aging, stress, and technology impact memory. Dr. Smith’s research has been published in top-ranking peer-reviewed scientific journals and has been featured by multiple news outlets. She serves as a consultant and enjoys helping educators and organizations improve their approach to learning.
